My name is Ashley Cash and I am a current Senior at Austin Peay State University studying English in hopes to become a highschool teacher. For four and a half years of my life, I was a victim of abuse within a relationship starting from when I was fourteen. I am a survivor and a stronger woman now. My time as a victim has left me with a passion to help young women and men alike, giving them the information they need to be aware of possible abusive relationships, prevent them in their own lives, and support those around them that may be suffering. I am an advocacy speaker and participate in pageants in order to help spread my passion project to a wider audience. I was awarded Miss Congeniality at Miss Austin Peay 2017. In Miss Austin Peay 2018, my service was recognized as I was awarded the inagural Doug Barber Service Award.
I attend Spring Creek Baptist Church and am a youth leader with the Anchored program. I also help with Clarksville's HOPE Depression Support Group and worship lead at St. Brigid's Anglican Chuch. All of these wonderful oppurtunities are gifts from God, and I feel blessed to be part of such a wonderful community that has allowed me to grow as a woman in my faith. I am also an avid writed and blogger. You can visit my blog by clicking on the My Blog tab at the top! I post every Monday-- updates, resources, and videos as well as pieces of my own story. My hope is to, eventually, write a memoir in order to help teenagers in the situation I was in as well as survivors. |
